# METADATA GROUPS Invoke the Metadata Groups API to create, read, update, and delete Metadata Groups. A Metadata Group organizes related Metadata Attributes together for use within a Metadata Template. **Admin Endpoints (NEW!):** These endpoints require the Metadata Management admin privilege. ## (NEW!) List Metadata Groups (Paginated) - [GET /metadata/groups](https://api.tenovos.com/openapi/v1.5/metadata-groups/listmetadatagroups.md): Retrieve a paginated list of metadata groups for UI consumption. Supports filtering by name and usage, pagination via offset, and sorting via query parameters. Each result includes an inUse flag, computed from whether usedIn.metadataTemplates is non-empty. Defaults: - inUse is unset by default, returning groups regardless of usage. The user submitting the request must have the Metadata Management admin privilege. ## (NEW!) Create Metadata Group - [POST /metadata/group](https://api.tenovos.com/openapi/v1.5/metadata-groups/createmetadatagroup.md): Create a new metadata group. A group has a name, an ordered list of attribute IDs, and an optional flag controlling whether the group name is visible. The order of attributes in the request is preserved and reflected in the response. The user submitting the request must have the Metadata Management admin privilege. ## (NEW!) Get Metadata Group - [GET /metadata/group/{id}](https://api.tenovos.com/openapi/v1.5/metadata-groups/getmetadatagroup.md): Retrieve a single metadata group by its ID, returning the full group configuration including the resolved ordered list of attributes and usedIn references. The user submitting the request must have the Metadata Management admin privilege. ## (NEW!) Update Metadata Group - [PATCH /metadata/group/{id}](https://api.tenovos.com/openapi/v1.5/metadata-groups/updatemetadatagroup.md): Partially update an existing metadata group. Only fields included in the request body will be updated — omitted fields remain unchanged. When attributeIds is provided, the existing attribute list is fully replaced in the order given. Fields that cannot be updated: searchField. The user submitting the request must have the Metadata Management admin privilege. ## (NEW!) Delete Metadata Group - [DELETE /metadata/group/{id}](https://api.tenovos.com/openapi/v1.5/metadata-groups/deletemetadatagroup.md): Permanently delete a metadata group by its ID. Deletion is blocked if the group is currently referenced by any metadata template. This action is permanent and cannot be undone. The user submitting the request must have the Metadata Management admin privilege.
